What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We protect your data by using an endpoint firewall installed on the website, as well as requiring complex and unique passwords for users with access to personal data and encrypting all data between your device and the web host via an SSL. In addition, we keep our software and plugins up to date, and only use plugins from trusted developers.

Should a data breach take place, affected users will be notified within 72 hours of our becoming aware of it, regarding the scope and consequence.

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store. Name, email, shipping and billing address as well as card number are all necessary for purchase and product fulfillment.
What we collect and store
While you visit our site, we’ll track:
- Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
- Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
- Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

WooCommerce Data is retained in the following manner
- Inactive accounts: 1 Month
- Pending Orders: 7 Days
- Failed Orders: 7 Days
- Canceled Orders: 3 Days
- Completed Orders: 12 Months
We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.
Data Used: For payments with Square: purchase total, currency, billing information. For taxes: the value of goods in the cart, value of shipping, destination address. For checkout rates: destination address, purchased product IDs, dimensions, weight, and quantities. For shipping labels: customer’s name, address as well as the dimensions, weight, and quantities of purchased products.
Who on our team has access
Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:
- Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
- Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.
What we share with others
We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you; for example USPS, Square, TaxJar, EasyPost and others listed here.
We accept payments through Square. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Square, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
MailPoet newsletter & emails
If you have subscribed to our newsletter or if you are a member of our website (you can log in) or if you have purchased on our website, there is a good chance you will receive emails from us.
We will only send you emails which you have signed up to receive, or which pertain to the services we provided to you.
To send you emails, we use the name and email address you provide us. Our site also logs the IP address you used when you signed up for the service to prevent abuse of the system.
This website can send emails through the MailPoet sending service. This service allows us to track opens and clicks on our emails. We use this information to improve the content of our newsletters.
No identifiable information is otherwise tracked outside this website except for the email address.
